You open your eyes and the Libyan Sea unfolds towards the horizon. Around you the imposing Asterousia Mountains. The air smells of thyme and has a “magical” sense here, clearing the thoughts and the stress of you. Deep breath. How about the first dive of the day? Just go down the stairs of the house, to enjoy the crystal clear waters of the main beach. A day has just begun, in Treis Ekklisies, a small seaside village in southern Crete. Our beautiful house is located right at the village of Treis Ekklisies, right on the beach ready to welcome you.
It has been built and crafted by its hosts, at a height of about ten meters from the beach and can accommodate up to 11 guests. It is spacious, bright, fully equipped and its architecture ensures freedom of movement and privacy for guests, as the kitchen, living room and two bathrooms are located downstairs, while the bedrooms and two bathrooms are upstairs. They are connected by an internal and external staircase, while on both floors there are large balconies, with endless view of the sky and the sea.
Treis Ekklisies is a small coastal settlement located 64 km south of Heraklion, in the heart of the wild natural landscape of Asterousia Mountains. The surrounding area is famous for its beautiful beaches and is suitable for many activities such as hiking in the gorges of eastern Crete, visits to traditional monasteries, archeological sites and villages of the south.
Crossing the main beach you will find “Bourouni” where there are taverns that you can enjoy traditional delicacies, food and drinks, accompanied by Cretan hospitality.
If you are in the mood for exploration, there are many smaller beaches at east and west of the village, which you can reach by car, on foot or by boat, while the entrance and exit of the Aba Gorge welcomes you to the wild beauty of the natural landscape.
Extra Tips:
• Wake up early in the morning and head to the main road from which you came to the village. A few meters later, follow the dirt road that branches on the right with the main one. You will enjoy a wonderful sunrise over the Asterousia Mountains.
• Do not miss the gaze at the night sky of Treis Ekklisies.
